The BlinkenArea was part of the Art & Beauty Village at the 2. Chaos Communication Camp of the Chaos Computer Club. People who met there were working on more than ten "blinken" (= flashing, sparkling, glowing, twinkling, blinking) projects. The great success of the BlinkenArea led to a meta-project for those people to work closely together. It was beyond all question that the name of the new founded group had to be "BlinkenArea". The motto of the BlinkenArea "144 pixels ought to be enough for anybody" is based on first reproductions of Blinkenlights which gave the reason for further activities. Nevertheless, members of the BlinkenArea are surely working on projects with more or less shining and glowing elements, too.
The group grows constantly and by now, more than 30 hard- and software projects have been developed and realised. This site is our portal where all our projects are collected. An overview is available on the page Projects which leads to further and more detailed information about the different projects on seperate pages. The Wiki solution enables everybody to work on the content. Thus, the Wiki provides information about completed, current and future projects of the BlinkenArea. For any question, you will find contact persons on the particular pages.

The BlinkenArea runs a Mailinglist and a discussion forum where you can ask questions, join in the conversation or just read along.
We just started to reconstruct historical documents from the year 1903, the first gathering of the BlinkenArea-Team.
